Forecast for September 30, 2010

Today:
A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for the entire DC Area. Expect periods of heavy rain, mainly early in the day with cloudy skies. Highs will top out in the Mid 70s.

Radar from Sterling, VA at 12:13 AM on Sept. 30

Tonight:
Any lingering showers will taper off, and skies will begin to clear as we head towards Friday. Lows will be in the lower 60s.

Weekend:
The weekend looks dry and "Fall" like. Temperatures Saturday and Sunday won't get out of the 60s, but we'll still have plenty of sun to make things comfortable out there.

As always my forecast flier is attached below:

Forecast for September 27, 2010

Today:
Rain will taper off as we reach the Midday hours. Expect peeks of sun this afternoon as we top out near 80 degrees. This will be the last 80 degree day for a while as a front drags more fall like weather with it into our area. Saturday temperatures aren't even expected to hit 70!

Yesterday:
National reported 0.19" of rain, which means they missed much of the precipitation they needed. Other sites, such as Baltimore, reported up to an inch of much needed rainfall. Luckily we'll have another shot to put a dent in our drought on Wednesday night/Thursday.

As always, the forecast flier is attached for your enjoyment.

Record Setting Summer:
Saturday we topped 90 degrees for the 67th time this summer. This ties 1980 for the most 90 degree days in one year on record, and we still have plenty of time to break it. The good news is that we will not come close to 90 through at least the next 5 days.

Check out the 5 day forecast, and what's going on across the nation with my forecast flier below.

Forecast for September 24, 2010

Today:
Today could be another record hot day across DC. It will certainly be our 65th 90 degree day this summer, and it will approach our record high for this date as well.  I'm anticipating that we'll top out in the neighborhood of 95 degrees!  The good news is this weekend we are expecting a big cool down.

Tonight:
Quiet weather tonight with mild temperatures continuing.  Lows will be in the upper 60s and low 70s.

Weekend:

Another sunny day is in store for the District on Saturday as temperatures climb to the upper 80s on Saturday. For those of you running the Clarendon 5 and 10K's, the weather looks just fine.

Sunday will remain dry as clouds start to build into the region in the afternoon. A front will begin moving through the region late on Monday and bring with it rain chances that will last through the day on Tuesday. Currently it looks like we'd receive 1+" of rain, which is badly needed.

I'll add graphics as I become more accustomed to blogging, but if there is anything you for sure want added let me know!
