Forecast for January 11, 2011

Today:
Expect mainly gray skies through the daytime hours. We will be placed under a Winter Weather Advisory this afternoon and that will continue through tonight. Snow showers will begin to move in late in the date with much of the accumulating snow coming this evening. Highs today will be in the low 30s with winds becoming light out of the East. Higher accumulating snows will be found to our NE. Expect it to be tough to make it to New York or Boston by this evening through tomorrow at least.

Tonight:
Light snow will fall across the Beltway. Higher amounts will be across parts of Maryland and NE DC. For the entire region 1-3" of snow is anticipated. Arlington folks should anticipate between 1-2" of fresh snow. Lows will be in the upper 20s with light W winds.

Wed through Saturday:
Weather looks relatively quiet outside of Wednesday with below normal temperatures continuing. Wednesday will be breezy and cold with the fresh snow pack.  Highs the rest of the week will be in the low to mid 30s with warmer weather moving in late in the weekend.
